How WishyBox Works
Have you ever told your friends and family what you want for your birthday or Christmas, only to receive the same gift from multiple people? Or received gifts that didn't quite hit the mark? WishyBox solves that.
Your personal gift registry, all year long
WishyBox is a simple online wish list that you and your family can use all year long for special occasions like birthdays, Christmas, wedding registries, bridal showers, baby showers, or any other special event. You can also use it as a general wish list for tracking the things you want.
Sign in, add items to your list, and invite friends and family to view it and reserve gifts. Think of it as your own personal gift registry that you keep updated throughout the year — and gift purchases stay hidden from you so the surprise is never spoiled.
Getting started in 7 steps
Everything you need to know to set up your list and start coordinating gifts with friends and family.
Step 1: Sign in
Click Sign In and choose to sign in with your Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or Yahoo! account. WishyBox only uses your name and email address from your existing accounts so there's no new password to remember.
Step 2: Add an item to your wish list
Click the Add Item button and fill in a description, link, price, and any notes. The link can point to any product page on the web — you're not locked into a single store.
Step 3: Invite friends and family
WishyBox works best when you use it with the people closest to you. Click the Friends button, then enter the email address of a friend or family member to send them an invite.
Step 4: Accept invites
When someone sends you an invite on WishyBox, you'll need to accept it before you can see their list. Click the Friends button, then open the Invites tab to accept or decline invites from friends and family members.
Step 5: Reserve gifts
Open the wish list of the person you'd like to buy for and click Reserve Gift on any item that hasn't already been reserved. Reserving a gift doesn't purchase it, it just signals to other friends and family that you're committing to buy it.
After you reserve, click the item link to complete your purchase wherever it's sold. You can also leave comments to coordinate with others. Comments are not visible to the person whose list it is, so the surprise stays safe.
Step 6: Change your settings
Click Settings to change your currency or to make your list public. By default, your list is only visible to your WishyBox friends. Making it public gives you a shareable URL you can send to anyone — perfect for weddings or baby showers.
Step 7: Set your profile picture
WishyBox uses Gravatar for profile pictures. Visit Gravatar and configure your profile picture using the same email address you used to sign in to WishyBox — your avatar will appear automatically across the site.
